LSM Sentinel® VSS Secures International Patent Grants

LSM Technologies has reached an important international milestone for its LSM Sentinel® VSS Vehicle Safety System, with patent grants now secured in Australia, New Zealand, Canada and Japan.

Other PCT national phase countries remain pending and are expected to progress toward grant, further strengthening LSM Technologies’ global intellectual property position for this world- first safety platform.

LSM Sentinel® VSS concept is designed to address a common problem in mobile plant, heavy vehicles, buses, cranes, mining, construction, ports, waste, logistics and transport fleets: too many separate safety devices, too many separate controllers and too many in- cabin displays competing for driver attention.

Instead, LSM Sentinel® VSS provides a single Central Logics Controller (CLC) and one integrated In-Cabin Display (ICD). This allows multiple LSM safety mitigation technologies to be connected, programmed, monitored and displayed through a central platform.

The LSM Sentinel® ICD (In- Cabin Display provides clear graphical information, audible and visual alerts and touchscreen interaction, allowing the operator to view safety events without overloading the cabin with multiple screens. The CLC is designed to interface with technologies such as LSM RollStop®, LSM RadarSense®, LSM AccessID®, LSM CabSense®, LSM DriverView® and LSM TyreGuard® and can be expanded to integrate safety mitigation controls 

Importantly, LSM Sentinel® VSS is also positioned to take advantage of newer Australian (and EU) vehicle safety specifications, including ADR 97/00 Advanced Emergency Braking for omnibuses and medium and heavy goods vehicles, and ADR 108/00 Reversing Technologies. Through suitable vehicle interfaces and integrated safety controls, LSM Sentinel® VSS has the capability to support warning escalation, controlled vehicle deceleration and Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), subject to vehicle compatibility, engineering validation and regulatory requirements.

LSM Sentinel® VSS is Australian designed and made for Australian industry, while also being positioned for global markets where integrated, intelligent and scalable vehicle safety systems are increasingly required.

The LSM Sentinel® VSS data from connected (LSM) mitigation controls, can be stored on the Sentinel® CLC or sent to our FSM® Fleet Safety + Tracking Manager telematics / web-based system. This provides for remote, back -to- base alerting, reporting, analysis of events and proof of compliance.
