LM TankCare® Desiccant Breather and Filters protect Diesel / Chemical Storage, Oil Reservoirs, Gearboxes, Pumps and other Industrial Equipment from Moisture and Particulate. Gearboxes, Reservoirs, etc all “breathe” during operation- and of course are subjected to thermal expansion (out- breathing) and contraction (in- breathing).
As air contracts or expands or as entering fluid displaces air in a system (eg hydraulic system) the outside air is drawn in from the atmosphere. Unfortunately, this "breathed" air has water and particulate that will accumulate to contaminate your system and cause wear for any moving components (pumps, gearbox, etc).
LSM TankCare® Desiccant Breather replaces the standard Dust Cap or OEM breather cap on equipment, offering better filtration to protect against even the smallest particulates that destroy the effectiveness of your machinery, and cause downtime and costly repairs. Whether in service or during shut-down, the Desiccant media attracts moisture from inside the equipment reservoir, actively drying the equipment.
When particulate contaminated air enters the top of the Breather, it passes through layered Filter media, preventing solid particles from contaminating the fluid, causing undue wear to your equipment surfaces. In turn the Filtered air then passes through a bed of LSM TankCare® Descant Silica Beads, which removes harmful moisture from the air. The LSM TankCare® Descant Silica Beads also work to attract moisture from inside the equipment reservoir during service or shut-down, keeping the equipment dry.
