IIR Conference 7th-9th March 2011- Operator Visibility + Proximity Detection + Collision Avoidance
LSM Technologies brought focus to the Australian Mining / Earthmoving Industry by initiating the first Conference dealing with mitigation of HPI's, Injuries and Fatalities involving the interaction of V2P (vehicle to person), V2V (vehicle to vehicle), V2I (vehicle to infrastructure).
LSM Technologies brought focus to the Australian Mining / Earthmoving Industry by initiating the first Conference bringing Industry and Technologists together to progress toward solutions / mitigation of Hip's, Injuries and Fatalities involving the interaction of VP (vehicle to person), VIV (vehicle to vehicle), VI (vehicle to infrastructure).
Recently LSM Technologies chaired / presented "Mitigation of Operator Visibility VP, VP, VI interactions"- at the recent IR Conferences- "Collision Avoidance in Mining" held at the Mercure Brisbane in March 2011.
Full Presentation and referred Video Clips and Historical Statistics Data can be downloaded below.
In addition, LSM Technologies also provided a Prue- conference Workshop on "Risk Assessment- Mitigation of VP, VP and VI Interactions".
Some LSM Technologies history of involvement in mitigation of Operator Visibility issues on earthmoving equipment:
In November 2008, LSM Technologies presented the newly mandated ISO 5006: 2006 Standard for Earthmoving Equipment- Operators Visibility (Th Nov 2008), to the Queensland Mines and Energy Mines Inspectorate (DEED).
At LSM Technologies behest, the QM Mines Inspectorate hosted / organised 4 x 2 day workshops throughout Queensland to bring to the forum these issues and the available technology for Operator Visibility + Proximity Detection + Collision Avoidance (7th July 2009).
Since November 2008, LSM Technologies has contributed to more than 10 x Health and Safety Conferences and published a number of articles on its web site Four "Defences"- (Administrative Controls) + Operator Visibility / Proximity Detection / Collision Avoidance (Th Oct 2009) and in Mining Magazines such as Australian Mining Monthly (Th Dec 2010).
LSM Technologies has many years experience with implementing Operator Visibility control measures. Not only on equipment in the Mining / Earthmoving Industries but also:
- Construction (Cranes).
- Emergency Services (Sky lifts, Crash tenders)
- Port Handing (RT, MG, ST'S, Straddle Carriers).
- Material Handling (Handlers/ Forklifts).
- Heavy Haulage / Transport.
- Fixed Plant Monitoring (Crushers, Screes, Silos, etc).
LSM Technologies also recently published an editorial in the Australian Mining Monthly / Cranes and Lifting Magazines, relative to Operator Visibility issues for Crane Safety + Damage Control + Productivity (dd Th Oct 2010).
